- Non-Personal Information (Non-PII): Information that does not directly identify you, such as but not limited to your IP address or browser type.
Here are the key ways we use your information and how we protect your privacy.

1. What Information Do We Collect?
In Short: We collect the personal information you provide to us. Some information, like your IP address and device characteristics, is collected automatically when you use our services.
We collect two types of information:
- Personally Identifiable Information (PII): Information that identifies you. We collect PII when you register or participate in features such as but not limited to reviews, surveys, or promotions. This includes:
- Your name, address, email, credit card number, and phone number.
- Demographic information such as but not limited to age, gender, shopping interests, etc.
- General comments or recommendations you post on our site.
- Note: We do not store your credit card details. They are stored by third-party payment processors such as but not limited to Stripe, PayPal, and RazorPay. Their privacy policies can be found here: Stripe, PayPal, RazorPay.
- Non-Personally Identifiable Information (Non-PII): Information that does not identify you personally. We may collect non-PII separately or alongside your PII. This includes:
- IP addresses, browser type, operating system, and the referring third-party website.
- Usage data, like web pages you visit and how long you stay on them.
We may log certain information, such as but not limited to IP addresses, browser types, and URLs requested by users. This information is always provided by a user's browser and automatically logged by most websites. It is primarily used to maintain security and analyze traffic patterns.
When you or your customers scan dynamic QR codes, including digital business cards provided by our services, we may also collect and store the browser type, device details, and IP address.
Why We Collect This Information:
- To deliver and improve our services.
- To ensure system security and prevent misuse.
- To analyze usage trends and enhance user experience.
Please note that the browser type, device details and the IP address and the information derived from the IP address (such as but not limited to city, state or country location) collected during QR code scans may be shared with the creator/owner of the QR code for analytics purposes.
In some of the cases you may be prompted by your browser to share your location information (latitude and longitude), and if you allow so, or in some cases if you have already allowed in your browser setting to share your location information, in any case if we get your location information from your browser (which in most of the cases modern browser provides only if you have explicitly given it your consent), then we may collect such information and we may share such information or the information derived from it (such as but not limited to city, state or country location) with the QR Code creator/owner for analytics purposes.
You can manage your preferences and disable location sharing at any time through your browser settings.
We retain the collected data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined above and to comply with legal requirements.
We may also collect social login data if you use your existing social account credentials (like Google, Facebook, Apple or Microsoft) to register. This includes profile information as described in the "How Do We Handle Your Social Logins?" section.
All personal information you provide must be true, complete, and accurate. You must update your account portal or notify us of any changes.
Like many businesses, we collect information through cookies and similar technologies. More details can be found in our Cookie Policy.
2. How We Use and Share the Information Collected

- Perform research and analysis to understand trends and user behavior.
- Develop aggregated research reports and other content.
- Serve targeted advertisements based on your browsing activity.
How We Share Your Information:
We may disclose PII and Non-PII to:
- Third-Party Service Providers: Companies that help operate our Sites and Services. This includes hosting and managing data, processing payments, delivering our products, and managing marketing communications.
- Program Sponsors: Partners sponsoring a program or promotion you enter through our Sites or Services. They may have access to your information to administer the promotion.
- Affiliated Companies: We may share information with our parent company, subsidiaries, or other partner or affiliated entities for operational, marketing, and promotional purposes.
- Co-Promotional Partners: Companies we collaborate with for joint marketing activities or co-branded promotions.
- Participating Merchants: Where you have given consent while using our interactive features such as but not limited to third party integrations or plugins, surveys and reviews.
- Other Users: If you choose to publicly post reviews, comments, or other content or communicate via public forums (e.g., message boards, bulletin boards, etc.), your information may be visible to other users.
Additionally, we use Non-PII to analyze website traffic, understand customer needs and preferences, and perform targeted promotional activities (see "Preference-Based Advertising" below). Non-PII may be used on its own or aggregated with data from others to produce reports, research, or content for interested parties, including media and other stakeholders.
3. What Legal Bases Do We Rely On to Process Your Information?
In Short: We only process your personal information when necessary and when we have a valid legal reason (i.e., legal basis) to do so under applicable law. This may include obtaining your consent, complying with laws, providing you with services, fulfilling contractual obligations, protecting your rights, or serving legitimate business interests.
If you are located in the EU or UK, this section applies to you. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR require us to explain the valid legal bases we rely on to process your information. These bases include:
- Consent: We may process your information if you have given us permission (i.e., consent) to use your personal information for a specific purpose. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
- Performance of a Contract: We may process your personal information when necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations to you, including providing our services or at your request, before entering into a contract with you.
- Legal Obligations: We may process your information where necessary for compliance with our legal obligations, such as cooperating with law enforcement, exercising or defending our legal rights, or disclosing information in litigation.
- Vital Interests: We may process your information where necessary to protect your vital interests or those of a third party, such as situations involving potential threats to anyone’s safety.
If you are located in Canada, this section applies to you. We may process your information if you have given us specific permission (express consent) to use your personal information for a specific purpose or if your consent can be inferred (implied consent). In some cases, we may be legally permitted under applicable law to process your information without your consent, such as:
- If collection is in an individual's interest and consent cannot be obtained in a timely way.
- For investigations, fraud detection, and prevention.
- For business transactions under certain conditions.
- If it is necessary to assess, process, or settle an insurance claim.
- If we have reasonable grounds to believe someone is or may be a victim of financial abuse.
- For legal purposes, like complying with a subpoena or court order.
- If it was produced during employment or professional activities consistent with the purpose of collection.
- If the information is publicly available as specified by regulations.
4. Do We Use Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies?
In Short: We may use cookies and other tracking technologies to collect and store your information.
(a) Cookies and Web Beacons: We and third parties we authorize automatically receive and store certain types of Non-PII whenever you interact with us through "cookies" and similar technology. Cookies are small files placed on your computer or browser memory to recognize your browser and provide convenience and other features. For example, our cookies may allow us to show you the products you previously searched for on our Sites.
Cookies that we permit others to use do not contain PII about you. However, you may direct your browser not to allow cookies, and you can delete existing cookies from your device at any time. If you clear cookies in your browser, you will need to opt out again after each time you clear your cookies. Note that these cookie-based opt-outs must be done on each device and browser you use. Cookie-based opt-outs are not effective on mobile apps, but on many mobile devices, you may limit tracking via their device settings.
If you use opt-out mechanisms, some elements of our Sites may not function properly. We will still automatically collect the IP addresses of devices that click or scan QR codes, but they won’t be associated with your QRCodeChimp account.
We may share your data with Google Analytics to analyze usage. To turn off cookies for Google Analytics, follow the instructions here. Learn more about Google's privacy practices here.
Most browsers let you turn off cookies, preventing cookies from being accepted or allowing you to decide on acceptance each time. Disabling cookies may limit some Services or Services’ features. We do not currently recognize Do Not Track (DNT) signals. For more information on changing cookie preferences, see your browser's settings.
The following links provide information on changing your cookie preferences in some of the most used browsers:
- Safari
Specific information about how we use such technologies and how you can refuse certain cookies is set out in our Cookie Policy.
(b) Preference-Based Advertising: We work with certain third parties, including ad networks and website analysis firms, to place cookies on your device when you visit our Sites. These cookies gather non-PII information about your activities to serve ads ("Third-Party Ads"). If you want to opt out of this activity, contact us.
Note that:
- Opt-out tools for Third-Party Ads cover all ad networks, including those we don’t work with.
- Opting out of our ads doesn’t opt you out of Third-Party Ads automatically, and vice versa.
- Opt-out tools rely on cookies ("Opt-out Cookies"). If you change devices, browsers, or clear cookies, you’ll need to opt out again.
- Some browser features and add-on software may block or limit cookies for advertising. We can’t promise our Sites will work well with these methods.
5. How Do We Handle Your Social Logins?
In Short: If you choose to register or log in to our Services using a social account, we may access certain information about you.
Our Services offer registration and login using third-party social account details (e.g., Google, Facebook, Apple or Microsoft). If you choose this, we will receive profile information from the social network, including:
- Your name, email, friends list, profile picture, and other information you choose to make public on those social platforms.
We use this information only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or as otherwise explained in the relevant Services. We do not control and are not responsible for how social network providers use your data. Review their privacy policies to understand how they collect, use, and share your data and how to set your privacy preferences on their sites and apps.
6. Is Your Information Transferred Internationally?
In Short: We may transfer, store, and process your information in countries other than your own.
Our main processing servers are located in the United States. If you access our Services from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored and processed in our facilities and those of third parties with whom we share data, both in the U.S. and other countries.
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), or Switzerland, note that these countries may not have data protection laws as comprehensive as those in your country. However, we take the necessary measures to protect your personal information under this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses:
We have implemented measures to protect your data, including using the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses for transferring personal data between our companies and third-party providers. These clauses require all recipients to protect data from the EEA or UK per European data protection laws. Contact us at support@qrcodechimp.com to request the Data Processing Agreement (DPA).
7. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?
In Short: We keep your information as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless otherwise required by law.
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (e.g., for tax, accounting, or legal reasons). No purpose in this policy will require us to retain your information for more than 14 days after your account is terminated. However, some server, system, and access logs that may contain information about your use of our services may be retained for 180 days or longer. This is typically required by law, or to audit in the event of a data breach or to monitor and prevent cyberattacks on our systems.
If we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your data, we will delete or anonymize it. If this is not possible (e.g., if stored in backups), we will securely store your data and isolate it from further processing until deletion is possible.
8. How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?
In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through organizational and technical security measures.
We use reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect the security of the personal information we process. For example, we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software to encrypt the information you input.
We also use secure server hosting locations in the US and other places in the world, firewall protection, controlled access, and encryption technology. However, while we strive to protect your information, no data transmission over the Internet is guaranteed 100% secure, and we are not responsible for the theft, destruction, or inadvertent disclosure of your PII.
If your personally identifiable information is compromised, we will notify you by email to the last email address you provided as soon as feasible under the circumstances (delays may occur while we assess the breach and restore system integrity or if law enforcement needs delay notification, usually if notification would impede a criminal investigation).
We employ many different security techniques to protect such data from unauthorized access by users inside and outside the company. If you are concerned that your privacy may have been breached, please contact us immediately.
9. Do We Collect Information From Minors?
In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to individuals under 18 years of age.
Our Sites and Services are not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect, solicit from, market to, or sell personal information about anyone under 18. By using our Services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old or a parent/guardian of a minor over the age of 13, and you consent to the minor's use of the Services under your supervision. Please note that our services are not intended for anyone under 13, even with parental or guardian consent.
If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from users under 18, we will deactivate the account and take steps to delete such information from our records. If you become aware of any data we may have collected from individuals under 18, please contact us at support@qrcodechimp.com.
10. Sale of Business and Disclosure by Law
(a) Business Transactions: We may disclose PII and Non-PII as part of a prospective or actual sale of any business or assets we acquire. If our assets are acquired by a third party, PII and Non-PII may be transferred as part of the transaction.
(b) Required Disclosures: We may disclose PII and Non-PII if required by law, for copyright and other intellectual property claims, or if necessary to:
- Fulfill a government request.
- Conform with the law or legal process.
- Protect or defend our rights or property, our Sites, or other users.
- In emergencies, to protect the health and safety of users or the general public.
- If there is any illegal activity or breach of terms and conditions(as mentioned in our Terms and Conditions page) from your account.
11. What Are Your Privacy Rights?
In Short: Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights regarding your personal information, including accessing, correcting, deleting, or limiting the use of your data.
(a) What Information Can I Access?: If you register as a member, you typically have access to an account section where you can update or correct the registration information you previously provided. If you cannot correct inaccurate information, contact us. You can also delete your membership account entirely, although we may retain some information in limited circumstances, such as but not limited to resolving disputes, troubleshooting problems, and enforcing our Terms of Use. Some data may never be completely removed from our databases due to technical reasons (e.g., data stored in backup systems) and legal constraints.
(b) What Choices Do I Have (Opt-Out)?: You have many choices regarding how we use your information:
- To stop our emails, contact us.
- To opt out of preference-based ads, contact us.
- To stop the sharing of PII with participating merchants, contact us.
- You may delete cookies from your browser at any time.
- Follow the choices we provide whenever you submit information through our Sites or Services.
Opting out of marketing and promotional communications: You can unsubscribe from marketing and promotional communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the emails we send or by contacting us. We may still communicate with you for non-marketing purposes (e.g., service-related messages or for a transactional event, such as to confirm a purchase, etc.).
(c) To Delete Personal Data under CCPA: To delete personal data defined as "personal information" under CCPA, log in to the portal, go to Dashboard => Profile, and click "Delete Account."
If you have questions or concerns about privacy for our Sites and Services, email support@qrcodechimp.com.
12. Controls for Do-Not-Track Features
Most web browsers, as well as some mobile operating systems and applications, offer a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature that you can activate to express your preference not to have your online browsing activities monitored and collected. However, no uniform standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been established. Therefore, we do not currently respond to DNT signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your preference not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is established and we are required to follow it, we will update this privacy policy to inform you.
Under California law, we are required to disclose how we respond to web browser DNT signals. Since there is currently no industry or legal standard for recognizing DNT signals, we do not respond to them at this time.
13. Do United States Residents Have Specific Privacy Rights?

Please note that these rights may be subject to certain limitations under applicable law.
We collect sensitive personal information, as defined by applicable privacy laws, only for purposes permitted by law or with your consent. Sensitive personal information may be used or disclosed to a service provider or contractor for specific, additional purposes. You may have the right to limit the use or disclosure of your sensitive personal information. We do not collect or process sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.
We may also collect other types of personal information outside these categories when you interact with us in person, online, by phone, or by mail, such as but not limited to:
- Receiving assistance through our customer support channels;
